Egypt seeks more economic engagement with India

As its foreign minister, Nabil Fahmy, arrives in India this week, the Egyptian government is keen on India stepping up trade and economic ties with the north African country, especially in its ambitious Suez Canal Corridor Project that is aimed at becoming a bridge between Africa with Asia and earning billions of dollars for the politically-transforming country in the process.

'India needs to increase engagement with West Africa'

India should not have a “one size fits all policy” towards Africa and there is need to increase interaction and trade with Western Africa, especially with Niger having large uranium reserves and willing to export to energy-hungry India, said a group of experts who visited West Africa as part of an advisory group on the continent.
