Improved EVMs to make voting tamper proof in this election

New Delhi, March 30 (IANS) The Made-in-India Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) that will be used in this election has just got smarter. It not only does the obvious - record your vote - but also notes the exact time you cast it. The new and improved machines will also give hourly updates of balloting.

India sets $70bn bilateral trade target with Africa

New Delhi, March 23 (IANS) Undeterred by the current global financial downturn, India has decided to invest $500 million in key projects in Africa and called for the doubling of bilateral trade between the two sides to $70 billion by 2014.

India launches Pan-African e-network project

New Delhi: India's ambitious e-network project, linking leading universities and hospitals in this country with their counterparts in 11 African nations via satellite, was inaugurated February 26 by External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee, who termed it a "shining example of South-South cooperation".
